Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB) Hackathon Series - 2026 concludes with a Grand Prize Distribution Ceremony, at Amity University

Punjab & Sind Bank (PSB), in association with Amity University Uttar Pradesh (AUUP), organised the “PSB Hackathon Series – 2026, SURAKSHA MANTHAN”, from March 16, 2026– August 21, 2026, at Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Noida Campus. The Hackathon Series concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, wherein the winers were awarded with prizes and certificates.

The Hackathon was exclusively organised for Amity students and focused on developing “Secure Wealth Twin – Intelligent Wealth Growth with Built-in Fraud Protection.”, an AI-powered digital wealth intelligence system that functions as a virtual financial twin of a customer or business, while embedding a mandatory, lightweight cybersecurity and fraud-protection layer around all critical wealth-related actions.

Addressing the participants, Mr. Swarup Kumar Saha, MD & CEO, Punjab & Sind Bank, emphasised on the importance of customer-centric innovation in the rapidly evolving digital banking ecosystem. “Digital banking, AI and digital payments are transforming the way customers access and use financial services. However, as technology has accelerated banking processes and transactions, cyber threats have also increased. Customer-centric innovation must therefore remain at the heart of technological development. India’s youth are the architects of the nation’s future, and with the country’s strong focus on AI and its vast young population, our students and young innovators have the potential to create transformative solutions for emerging challenges.”, he added.

Stressing upon the need for a safe Digital Financial Ecosystem, Mr. Jitendra Asati, Government Nominee Director, Punjab & Sind Bank, stated, “The Hackathon aligns strongly with the vision of Viksit Bharat and addresses the increasingly critical challenge of cybersecurity. As banking becomes more digital, the risks associated with cyber threats also grow. Young innovators have a vital role to play in developing solutions that leverage AI and data science while strengthening trust and security. I encourage students to apply technology and innovation to address real-world problems and contribute to a safer digital financial ecosystem.”

Addressing the participants, Prof. (Dr.) Balvinder Shukla, Vice Chancellor, Amity University Uttar Pradesh, said, “Today, customers expect banking solutions and services at their fingertips. However, the rapid digitalisation of banking has also led to a rise in cyber fraud, creating an urgent need for innovative technologies and robust processes to safeguard customers and their financial assets. I congratulate all the participating students for their enthusiasm and commitment. While winning a competition is good, the greater value lies in participating, learning, innovating and gaining the experience to solve real-world challenges.”

Briefing about the Hackathon, Dr. Sujata Pandey, Director, Amity Innovation & Design Centre, said, “Punjab & Sind Bank shares a strong partnership with Amity University, with the Amity Institute of Training & Development (AITD) having trained around 3,600 personnel of Punjab & Sindh Bank during 2024–25. Punjab & Sind Bank had chosen Amity University as its partner for organising this prestigious Hackathon, which provided a great opportunity to the students to apply their knowledge, critical thinking and analytical skills.”

The event concluded with a Prize Distribution Ceremony, wherein the winner was awarded with a cash prize of Rs 5 lakhs, the first and second runners up were awarded cash prizes of Rs 3 lakhs and Rs 2 lakhs, respectively. In addition, all participating students were presented with certificates in recognition of their participation and contribution to the Hackathon.
