Aug 25: After two years of relentless dedication, Internationally Acclaimed Murtikar Naresh Kumar Kumawat has completed the soon-to-be-unveiled magnificent Lord Hanuman Ji statue at Koradi, Nagpur. The Monument is also being considered for a Guinness World Records nomination. Right from its concept to its completion, the project combines traditional sculptural artistry with modern engineering. The motive is to create a landmark that will become a major spiritual and cultural destination.
The monument rises 202 ft from ground level, with the main statue measuring 162 ft 7 in from feet to crown. A particularly striking feature is the 67-ft Gada held by Lord Hanuman Ji, an extraordinary element presented as the tallest Gada incorporated into a monumental sculpture anywhere in the world. The project is also being nominated for Guinness World Records, subject to official verification.
The engineering scale of the monument is equally remarkable, with a total structural weight of approximately 2,981.6 metric tonnes, involving 1,178 cubic metres of concrete and 140 metric tonnes of steel. The statue uses an RCC structural system with an RCC skin and specialised protective coatings designed to enhance durability.
Naresh Kumar Kumawat said,
“Creating the 202-ft Lord Hanuman Ji statue has been a deeply fulfilling journey of faith, dedication and artistic responsibility. For me, this monument is not merely about its scale; it is about bringing devotion and Indian artistic heritage to life through contemporary craftsmanship and engineering. I am deeply grateful to Shri Koradi Temple, NMRDA, and Hon’ble Shri Chandrashekhar Bawankule, Cabinet Minister of Revenue, Government of Maharashtra, for their support in bringing this monumental project to fruition. I hope this landmark will inspire generations and stand as a lasting symbol of our cultural and spiritual legacy.”
For Kumawat, the monument represents more than its physical scale and records. It is an expression of faith, devotion and India’s timeless artistic heritage, while demonstrating how traditional craftsmanship can combine with contemporary engineering to create enduring cultural landmarks.
