The offerings were collected from five donation boxes at the temple, with the total amount counted at ₹25,91,743.

During the counting process, officials also found three foreign currency notes and seven foreign coins among the offerings.

Several gold and silver ornaments were recovered from the hundis, including decorative gold and silver eyes offered by devotees. Emotional letters written by devotees were also found inside the donation boxes.

The counting was conducted in the presence of Tara Tarini Temple Executive Officer Binod Behera, with officials from Purushottampur Tahasil overseeing the process.

The latest collection marks a significant rise compared with the previous counting, when the temple’s hundis yielded ₹7,17,540.

Officials said the funds collected through the donation boxes will be utilised for the development and improvement of the temple.

The historic Tara Tarini Temple, dedicated to Adi Shakti, stands atop Kumari Hills on the banks of the Rushikulya River near Purushottampur in Ganjam district and attracts devotees from across Odisha and beyond.
