New Delhi, Dec 6: The Second Knee & Hip Revision Arthroplasty Conference (RAC) 2025, India’s only exclusive scientific meeting dedicated to complex Revision Knee and Hip Replacement surgeries, successfully commenced its three-day academic sessions, today.

Scheduled from 5th to 7th December 2025, the conference will bring together over 850 orthopedic surgeons, international faculty, and leading arthroplasty experts from across India and overseas.

After the overwhelming success of the inaugural RAC held in December 2024—which marked India’s first-ever platform devoted solely to Revision Arthroplasty the 2025 edition is further expected to elevate the scientific standards and mark a major step forward in strengthening the country’s readiness to address rising hip and knee replacement implant aging and sometimes early failures.

Dr (Prof.) Anil Arora, Chairman & Head of Robotic Knee & Hip Replacement & Orthopaedics at Max Super Specialty Hospital, Patparganj, and Organising Chairman of RAC, said “Any Hip or Knee Replacement will wear out with time, usually 20 to 25 years, requiring REVISION Knee or Hip Replacement, called as Revision Arthroplasty. A far more complex and surgically demanding procedure with additional surgical skills. With nearly 5 lakh primary knee and hip replacements performed annually in India, and most implants lasting 20–25 years, the nation is now entering a critical phase where tens of thousands of earlier implants are beginning to loosen, wear out, or fail. RAC 2025 placed a strong spotlight on this growing healthcare burden and the urgent need for surgeons trained specifically in revision procedures.” India is entering an era where trained “revision” knee and hip replacement surgeons are no longer optional they are essential.

Dr Anil further added “Revision Knee & Hip Replacement is far more complex than primary replacement and demands specialized training, planning, and experience. India urgently needs more skilled revision surgeons to meet the rising demand. Revision surgeries require advanced implants, sophisticated instrumentation, meticulous planning for bone loss, and expertise in dealing with aseptic loosening, implant wear, periprosthetic fractures, infections, and instability. Unfortunately, no conference in India is held solely focussing on Revision Joint Repalcement. RAC has been created to fill this critical gap in specialised training, which will have scientific deliberations spread over three days by National and International experts.”
