New Delhi, Sep 03: Food, groceries and medicines have already taken to the skies. Now, sanitary pads and period-care products are joining the drone-delivery list in Delhi-NCR.
Women’s period-care brand AMARA has partnered with drone logistics company Skye Air Mobility to introduce drone-enabled same-day delivery of sanitary napkins, period-care products and other women’s healthcare essentials across the region. The idea addresses a situation familiar to many women — suddenly running out of sanitary pads at home, at work or at an inconvenient hour and needing them quickly.
With the new model, AMARA wants period-care products to be treated with the same urgency that quick-commerce platforms have brought to groceries, food and other everyday essentials.
The companies say drone deliveries could also help overcome one of Delhi-NCR’s biggest everyday headaches: traffic congestion. By shifting part of the last-mile journey from crowded roads to the air, essential products can potentially reach customers faster and with fewer traffic-related delays.
AMARA, the flagship brand of women-led Babel Biosciences Private Limited, is positioning the initiative not merely as a faster delivery option but as a larger conversation around making women’s healthcare more accessible and convenient.

Under the partnership, the drone-enabled network is expected to facilitate delivery of period-care products as well as medicines, emergency OTC products and other healthcare essentials.
The development also puts an interesting spin on India’s rapidly growing quick-delivery culture. Urban consumers today think little of ordering a cup of coffee, a packet of chips or a mobile charger for rapid delivery. AMARA believes sanitary pads should be viewed with at least the same sense of priority.
The service could also offer an additional layer of privacy and convenience for women who may prefer ordering menstrual-care products directly rather than buying them physically.
For Skye Air Mobility, the partnership expands the use of drones in healthcare and urban last-mile logistics. The company has previously deployed drone delivery solutions for healthcare products and other time-sensitive shipments.

Skye Air, founded in 2019 and headquartered in New Delhi, has been developing drone-based delivery solutions across healthcare, e-commerce, food, relief and other logistics categories. Its drone operations have previously included healthcare and medicine deliveries in states including Telangana, Himachal Pradesh, Meghalaya and West Bengal.
AMARA was launched by Babel Biosciences Private Limited in 2025 and focuses on feminine hygiene and period-care products.
For Delhi-NCR residents accustomed to seeing delivery riders race against traffic and the clock, the partnership offers a glimpse of another possibility: the next emergency pack of sanitary pads may not arrive on a bike — it could arrive from the sky.
