Chennai, September 1, 2025 : Ashok Leyland, the flagship company of the Hinduja Group and one of India’s leading commercial vehicle manufacturers, announced its sales performance for August 2025, recording growth across key segments.
Monthly Sales Performance (August 2025 vs August 2024)
- Total Vehicles (Domestic + Exports): 15,239 units, up 5% from 14,463 units in August 2024.
- M&HCV Trucks: 6,738 units, nearly flat versus 6,719 units last year.
- M&HCV Buses: 2,643 units, a sharp 36% growth from 1,944 units.
- Total M&HCV (Trucks + Buses): 9,381 units, an 8% increase from 8,663 units.
- LCV (Light Commercial Vehicles): 5,858 units, slightly up 1% from 5,800 units.
Domestic Sales Highlights
- Domestic Total: 13,622 units, up 2% compared to 13,347 units in August 2024.
- Within this, M&HCV Trucks saw a 1% rise, while buses surged by 11%.
- Cumulative Sales (April–August 2025)
Total Vehicles (Domestic + Exports): 74,541 units, an increase of 3% over 72,284 units in the same period last year. - M&HCV Buses led the growth, climbing 22% to 13,194 units (vs. 10,822 in April–August 2024).
- LCVs also rose modestly by 1% to 27,560 units.
Analysis
The standout performance came from the bus segment, both domestic and exports, reflecting strong demand in passenger transport and institutional orders. Trucks remained steady, while the LCV category continued its slow but positive growth trend.
