realme spins the Diwali playbook with its new RealWaliDiwali campaign

New Delhi, Oct 06: This Diwali, realme is putting a fresh spin on the eternal question: “Kya milega is baar?” With the launch of its #RealWaliDiwali campaign, the brand is bringing festive cheer with up to ₹500 crore worth of festive offers. At the heart of the campaign is a clever twist on the word ‘ghanta’, a popular expression often used to imply getting nothing. However, realme is flipping the narrative with a simple promise – “realme pe ghanta nahi, real deals milenge.”

Moving away from the well-trodden Diwali advertising playbook of family montages, gifting moments and festive nostalgia, realme taps into a phrase that is already part of everyday youth lingo. The campaign takes the familiar disappointment of expecting something exciting and getting ghanta instead and gives it a festive makeover.

The idea comes alive through three films, each built around a situation where a seemingly exciting Diwali moment takes an unexpected turn. An intern receives a giant bell as his Diwali gift from HR; a young couple is presented with the same unusual gift by their guests; and a college competition winner finds a giant bell in place of the prize she was expecting.

As the initial excitement gives way to confusion, the films land on the question, “Is Diwali bhi ghanta mila?” Just when it looks like another festive disappointment, realme flips the script. The bell disappears, a realme smartphone takes its place and the brand steps in with “Yeh chhodo, yeh lo.” The films then open into the festive world of realme smartphones and offers.

By putting a colloquial word by youth, at the centre of its Diwali storytelling, realme brings a cheekier, more irreverent energy to a category where festive communication can often look and sound familiar. The campaign combines humour with a tangible consumer proposition, i.e., up to ₹500 crore in festive offers, giving the creative idea a clear payoff beyond the punchline.

The campaign is ultimately realme’s way of making the festive season feel a little less predictable and a lot more rewarding, with a clear equation – This Diwali, realme pe ghanta nahi, real offers milenge.
