The Certificate of World Record was formally presented at the MET Bandra Campus by Mr. Shrikant Kale, Secretary of the Global Book of Excellence, England. The recognition was received by Hon. In preparation for METamorphosis 2025, the instituteโs flagship annual media festival scheduled from December 11 to 13, students designed and built an impressive 9.5-foot-tall trophy weighing 350 kilograms, crafted entirely from e-waste and eco-friendly materials.
The large-scale installation was constructed live on November 18, 2025, during a six-hour build from 9:30 am to 3:30 pm at the MET Bhujbal Knowledge City, Bandra and unveiled on December 05, 2025. A team of 69 students from MET IMM collaborated across media, design, production, communication, fabrication, and aesthetic teams to transform discarded materials into a striking work of art that conveys a powerful message of sustainability.
The initiative was shaped by the vision of Shri Pankaj Bhujbal, Hon. Trustee, MET, with leadership support from Smt. Vishaka Bhujbal, Senior Management Representative, and academic mentorship from Dr. Priya Menon Nair, Director, MET IMM. Renowned visual artist Dr. Sumeet Patil guided the students through the artistic and structural execution. The sustainable trophy will be awarded to the Best College in Mumbai at METamorphosis 2025, based on overall performance across cultural, media, intellectual, journalism, and sports categories. From conception to execution, this project remains entirely student-led and faculty-supported. The installation stands as a powerful symbol of transformation, showcasing the potential to turn waste into meaningful art.
