With an aim to find ‘playfront’ performers, the 15th Season of the much-loved singing reality show, ‘Indian Idol’, on Sony Entertainment Television, showcases a wave of talented singers from across the country. With Badshah’s dynamism, Shreya Ghoshal’s soulful charm, and Vishal Dadlani’s rockstar attitude, this season is on the lookout for India’s next singing sensation! With a different swag and a fresh vibe, the episodes this weekend will be Diwali – Idol Waali with some iconic performances and heartwarming moments.

Among the many standout contestants, Biswaroop Banerjee from Kolkata aka ‘Idol ki Loop wali Awaaz’ will make for an interesting audition. Sad on arrival for his audition, Badshah is quick to lighten Biswaroop’s mood by saying, “Mr. Banerjee, where is the energy?” making Biswaroop giggle. On enquiring further, Biswaroop reveals that he had a minor tiff with his wife on his way to the audition. Adding to the intrigue, he recounted a playful dare proposed by the show’s host, Aditya Narayan, who challenged him to complain about his wife in front of everyone, and by doing so, Aditya would allow him to skip the audition line and perform directly in front of the judges. Taking up the challenge, Biswaroop stood on a table, introduced his wife, Ananya, and proceeded to humorously list all her quirks much to her disapproval. After hearing about this incident, Badshah, labelled the dare as a ‘trick question,’ and gave him some love advice, saying, “In some situations, the true victory lies in losing gracefully”. Badshah was especially impressed and said, “When you sang, it felt like you were flowing. There was no forced drama in your performance and wherever it was needed, you used it correctly; it was a lovely performance.”
