New Delhi, July 14: E20 fuel is a viable alternative that can help strengthen India’s energy security and reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels, noted scientist Dr R. A. Mashelkar said.
Highlighting the importance of sustainable energy solutions, Dr Mashelkar said the adoption of E20 fuel, which contains 20% ethanol blended with petrol, can play a significant role in promoting cleaner energy and supporting India’s transition towards a greener future.
He emphasised that ethanol blending can provide multiple benefits, including reducing carbon emissions, supporting farmers through increased demand for ethanol-producing crops, and improving the country’s energy independence.
The move towards E20 fuel is part of India’s broader efforts to promote renewable energy sources and develop a more sustainable transportation sector.
Experts believe that wider adoption of ethanol-blended fuel will contribute to environmental protection while strengthening the nation’s long-term energy security.
