India’s Economic Strength Continues to Shine Despite Global Uncertainty: RBI Governor
Mumbai, Aug 6: India’s economy remains on a strong footing, supported by healthy domestic demand and stable macroeconomic fundamentals, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) Governor Sanjay Malhotra said on Thursday, expressing confidence in the country’s growth prospects despite an uncertain global economic environment.
The Governor said strong consumer spending, improving investment activity and continued infrastructure development have helped sustain economic momentum. He noted that while many global economies continue to face challenges, India has remained resilient due to its robust domestic demand and sound policy framework.
According to the RBI Governor, stable inflation, a well-capitalised banking system and comfortable foreign exchange reserves have further strengthened the country’s economic resilience. These factors have enabled India to navigate external risks while maintaining growth and financial stability.
He added that the central bank remains focused on balancing inflation control with growth, and will continue to monitor domestic and global developments to ensure macroeconomic stability.
The Governor also highlighted that rising consumption, expanding business activity and public investment continue to support the economy, creating a positive outlook for the months ahead.
Economists believe India’s long-term growth story remains intact, driven by strong domestic demand, structural reforms and sustained investment in infrastructure and manufacturing.
The RBI’s latest assessment reinforces confidence in India’s economic outlook, underscoring the country’s ability to maintain steady growth while adapting to changing global conditions.
