The intellectual capabilities and physical strength of the youth are the foundation on which India can face future global challenges. Highlighting this thought, former Union Minister Dr. Sanjay Paswan emphasized that by harmonizing intellect and physical energy, today’s youth can brighten not only their own future but also the nationโ€™s. Dr. Paswan was speaking at a seminar titled “Skills for Youth to Strive and Thrive”, organized at A.N. College to mark the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda. The seminar was jointly hosted by British Lingua, a leading institution in the field of communication skills, and the National Service Scheme (NSS) of A.N. College.

Dr. Paswan remarked, “India’s youth population outnumbers the entire population of the United States. By effectively utilizing their intellect and strength, they can lead the country to greater heights.”

Addressing the event, Prof. Nagendra Kumar Jha, Registrar of Patliputra University, stressed the need for holistic development, stating, “For the all-around progress of the nation, we need to focus equally on mental, physical, intellectual, and skill-based development.”

Bihar’s Cane Commissioner, Mr. Anil Kumar Jha, urged young people to set clear goals and dedicate themselves wholeheartedly until they achieve them. Citing the example of a scientist who succeeded in discovering urea on his 20,000th attempt, he emphasized the importance of perseverance and determination, which ultimately earned the scientist the Nobel Prize.

Principal of A.N. College, Prof. Praveen Kumar, inspired students by saying, “Swami Vivekananda is nothing short of a divine figure for todayโ€™s youth. We should strive to incorporate his teachings into our lives to achieve success.”

NSS Coordinator and Program Officer of Management, Prof. Ratna Amrit, underscored Swami Vivekanandaโ€™s belief that only individuals with strong character can truly serve society. She added, “A person’s character sets them apart from all other beings and is the essence of meaningful contribution to society.”

Dr. Birbal Jha, a renowned English scholar and founder of British Lingua, conducted the program and said, “The life of Swami Vivekananda is a message in itself. Young people must follow his path and equip themselves with essential skills. Without skills, an individual becomes a burden on their family, society, and the nation.”

During the event, individuals contributing significantly to societyโ€”Mr. Ashutosh Kumar, Mr. Krishna Kumar Tiwari, Ms. Ankita Singh, Mr. Saurabh Tiwari, Mr. Vicky Anand, and Mr. Shwet Ranjanโ€”were honored with the Swami Vivekananda Youth Award. Additionally, winners of the speech competition were felicitated, with Amritansh Kumar securing the first position, Aniket Kumar the second, and Reena Kumari the third.

The program saw enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who left inspired by Swami Vivekanandaโ€™s teachings.
