Mumbai, September 22, 2025ย โ€“ย Vietjet, Vietnamโ€™s new-age airline, celebrates the delivery of its first Boeing 737-8 aircraft from the airlineโ€™s landmark order of 200 jets, valued at US dolar of 32 billion, with Boeing, the worldโ€™s leading aircraft manufacturer. The ceremony at Boeingโ€™s Seattle Delivery Center in the U.S. state of Washington was attended by Vietnamโ€™s President Luong Cuong, senior officials from both nations, and key industry partners.

Vietjet Welcomes First Boeing Aircraft

The event, coinciding with the 30th anniversary of U.S.โ€“Vietnam diplomatic relations, marks a major milestone in the growing partnership betweenย Vietjetย and Boeing, driving trade, investment, and the creation of hundreds of thousands of jobs in the U.S. It also underscoresย the airlineโ€™sย commitment to expanding its international networkย while contributing to the sustainable development of the aviation industry regionally and globally.

The new aircraft, along with hundreds more to be delivered in the coming years, will be deployed onย Vietjetโ€™sย high-demand regional markets, enhancing the travel experience for millions of passengers.

Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman ofย Vietjet, said: โ€œThe first Boeing aircraft received under this historic order is the result of nearly a decade of partnership between Boeing and Vietjet. It marks the start of hundreds more deliveries in the years ahead. For Indian flyers, Vietjet currently operates 10 direct routes connecting Delhi, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru with Vietnamโ€™s major cities, including Hanoi, Da Nang, and Ho Chi Minh City.
