Jaipur, July 31: Rajasthan has introduced a new technology-based initiative to strengthen mental healthcare services by launching a web-based assessment tool for the early detection and treatment of mental health disorders.

The Global Mental Health Assessment Tool (GMHAT) will help healthcare providers identify conditions such as depression, anxiety, and other mental health concerns through a scientific screening process. The platform will generate instant assessment reports and enable patients to access specialist psychiatric consultations through telemedicine.
The initiative is part of the state government’s ‘Raj Mamta’ programme under the ‘Mental Health for All’ vision, announced to improve prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of mental health issues.
Initially, the digital tool will be implemented at Jaipur Medical College, Jodhpur Medical College, and AIIMS Jodhpur, before being expanded across Rajasthan.
Officials said the platform will improve timely diagnosis, ensure evidence-based treatment, and help provide specialist care to people in remote and rural areas without the need for extensive travel.
The system will also support data-driven healthcare planning by helping authorities track mental health trends across the state and design services based on local needs.
With this initiative, Rajasthan aims to create a more accessible, efficient, and technology-enabled mental healthcare network for its citizens.
