Tokyo, July 28: A strong 7.1 magnitude earthquake struck Japan’s Kyushu region, prompting authorities to issue a tsunami alert and urge coastal communities to remain cautious.

The earthquake was recorded in the Kumamoto area, with the Japan Meteorological Agency warning of possible sea level changes and advising residents in vulnerable coastal areas to move to safer locations.

Officials said precautionary measures have been activated to protect communities, while emergency teams are monitoring the situation and assessing any possible impact.

Residents have been advised to stay away from coastal zones until further updates are issued and to follow instructions from local authorities.

Japan, one of the world’s most earthquake-prone countries, has established strong disaster response systems to manage seismic events and protect lives during natural emergencies.

Authorities continue to monitor aftershocks and weather conditions while keeping communities informed about further developments.
